This blog is, in essence, a one-man public relations effort. I want to change the way people in Japan and around the world see things, even if I have to do it single-handedly.
.
I have no particular ideology and no god I believe in. My guiding principles have been simple: remain free of dogma, avoid thinking in set patterns, and defend both my own rights and those of others.
.
Lately, though, I have been troubled by a sense of helplessness. Japan has faded into the background on the world stage. It is as though the country barely exists. Japanese opinions are treated as irrelevant.
Meanwhile, at home, the country seems trapped in its own inward-looking logic, turning further and further in on itself. There are no solutions to be found there—only endless sorting of people into those we like and those we don’t.
.
Well, every so often this weariness gets the better of me. I grumble for a while, then pull myself together.
So, back to work.
