チャーチルの茶目
この前セルビアで、あるイギリス人から飛び切りの冗談を仕入れてきた。
チャーチルは終戦間際、選挙で敗れて政権を労働党のアトリーに取られてしまう。アトリー内閣は戦後、大企業の国有化に乗り出した。
ある日チャーチルとアトリーは偶然、議会のトイレで並んで小用を足していたのだが、チャーチルは不自然に体をねじって、前をアトリーから隠そうとする。アトリーはからかう。「おい、ウィンストン。何でそんなに恥ずかしがるんだ」
するとチャーチルは言った。「クレメント、お前は大きいものを見ると、なんでも国有化したがるからな」
この話し、いかにもチャーチルらしい。
