When "America as enemy" brand disappears
The US is still in a transition time under the new president, and its policy is not determined in many fields. Yet, something is different from the past transitions. Perhaps, the lack of articulate ideology and pragmatism in foreign policy robbed the adversaries of the sandbag "America as enemy". It is as if Russia and Venezuela, for example, had lost the target of their criticism. "Anti-America" has lost its commodity value in international politics. Russia, Venezuela and North Korea have been left on their own. But this Pax-Obaman is boring. The world politics has lost its logic and meaning. Only sheer, physical survival matters. Akio KAWATO
